This Nashville Open Space Project gives equal value to planning for conservation of green space and planning for development. Open space planning looks at the resource first and then plans development to complement those areas. Analysis of the region's resource identified anchor park locations that serve as focal points for developing this green infrastructure. The goal is to connect people with those open spaces through proper planning. This initiative also solicited input from the public to gauge interest in a variety of concepts such as urban farming, wildlife habitat improvement and preservation of historic or iconic resources.
