US EPA View Resource

This EPA website is a guide for communities to create local ordinances to prevent and control nonpoint source pollution from contaminating waterways. The website features guidance on development of ordinances, and sample ordinances from other communities. Arranged by topic, the overview of ordinance types simplifies browsing for specific management concerns, and includes matters often overlooked in local codes — including aquatic buffers, erosion and sediment control, open space development, stormwater control operation and maintenance, illicit discharges and post construction controls.
